Competitors will arrive at ASU Poly-tech at 7:30 to check. They will then start the competition and will be busy with event until around 1:00. At the contest they will perform a studio lighting task and create a photograph, using a DSLR Camera and lighting within a time-limit. The camera and lights will be provided, bringing your own flash/light meter is strongly suggested. Competitors will also complete a Photoshop problem/task that will be evaluated (a computer lab is also provided). Other areas of testing that will be done on site will include color correction and identifying digital photo problems/troubleshooting. Bringing a USB jump drive is suggested to save any work created during the contest.

Prior to the competition the students will complete a general photography knowledge test online through the Skills USA Arizona website. They will also prepare and bring in their best 11x14 to 16x20 inch matted print to be judged and evaluated that morning. All contestants must also bring a current resume in printed form.
